I guess I better not repeat those two words again in the near future.. 'I'm back' ? .. if I did so, I am pretty sure my blogger friends gonna kick me real bad ;)

The reason for not being "regular" on blogspot ?
I'm too busy .... or lets say... caught up with my studies ... or this one's the best : oops! I totally forgot I have a blog space here?

Well I can come up with numerous reasons, but I somehow feel guilty for coming up with silly reasons!

So what's new with me? lot of things happening on my end, except for my MBA classes! Few months ago, I gave a small dance show on-stage .. in front of .. lets say ... 1000 people? did I say it was a group dance? yep... it was a group dance... even uploaded the video... you can watch it here .. it was fun though! endless days n nights of practice and most interesting part is I felt I was back to my college days! was refreshing after 3 years of my stay in the US of A.

Recently we decided to step in the movie business.. I mean.. screening movies in theatre.. we both and few of our friends decided to screen a telugu movie here in the bay area.. movie named Maya Bazaar... everything went fine.. until we hit the bad news... but hey.. we will still be screening the movie.. most likely in December.. I even made a trailer to promote the movie ... i mean using the images... so watch and do let me know your feedback on it.. watch it here... will let you know if we still plan to screen the movie here in the bay area so that you can tell your friends living in california.

One more update, recently my brother-in-law.. aka uday's bro came from India... so you can imagine.. how busy I am right now! ... cooking, shopping... blah blah...

Chocolate Cake

This post is especially for chocolate cake lovers and who love to bake... Chocolate cake (aka Chocolate Death Cake).. Many ppl have asked me for the recipe and I am so sorry for posting it late.


FOR CAKE
INGREDIENTS:
-------------
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup hot coffee or boiling water
- 1/4 Milk
For egg less cake, replace eggs with vinegar

FOR FROSTING
INGREDIENTS:
-------------
- 1 1/4 cups Heavy cream
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup Butter
- Chopped Milk Chocolate

FOR ASSEMBLY
INGREDIENTS:
-------------
- 1/4 ounce chocolate covered with toffee bars (only for double layered
cake)
- Cadbury's or Hershey's Milk Chocolate

PROCEDURE
CAKE:
-----------
1. Seive maida, cocoa powder and baking powder.
2. To melted butter add sugar & vanilla extract.
3. Separate egg white from yolk and beat the egg white till it becomes
soft and foamy.
4. To the mixed maida add the mixed butter and the egg white.
5. Mix well until there are no lumps or till it becomes soft.
6. Grease the baking dish & add the mixed contents
7. Pre heat the over to 125’ C and place the baking dish in the center
rack for 15-20 minutes
8. Remove from the baking dish and let it cool.

FROSTING:
----------
1. Combine heavy cream, light corn syrup and butter in a heavy saucepan
2. Whisk over medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer
3. Add chopped milk chocolate
4. Reduce heat to low and whisk for about 1 minute till frosting is smooth and then transfer to a large bowl
5. Fill another bowl with ice. Set bottom of the bowl with frosting atop ice
6. Whisk for 8 minutes until frosting is cool and begins to thicken
7. Place bowl of frosting on a work table and using electric mixer, beat
until the color lightens & just until frosting becomes thicker enough to
form soft peaks.
8. Leave it for 2 minutes

(Frosting will continue to thicken as it stands)

ASSEMBLY:
----------
1. If double layered cake, place 1 cake layer, flat side up on a plate or
a round cardboard
2. Top layer with 1 ½ cups frosting, spreading to edge.
3. Sprinkle evenly with diced toffee
4. Place 2nd cake layer, flat side down and press slightly to adhere
5. Spread thin layer of frosting over top & sides of cake to seal & set
crumbs
6. Spread remaining frosting over top & sides of cake [if frosting becomes
stiffer, stir gently with a spoon/spatula to loosen]
7. Stand Chocolate bar on a work table on a short end. Using vegetable
peeler, starting at top edge of 1 side, run peeler down length of the bar
8. Pile Chocolate curls atop cake

Voila!


> If you want to write something on the cake, then don’t decorate with
chocolate curls.
> The same procedure works for single layer cake except for the toffee bars.

Hi ya'll

Yo! I'm back :D

phew... gosh I'm so happy that my finals are over.. *arch takes a deep breath* .. I feel so relieved from those big fat books.

The exams were done by thursday actually and made a mini trip to Lake Sonoma for the long weekend, which is like 2 hr drive from our place. We went there thinking we might get a glimpse of oldest redwood trees, which is a few miles away from Lake Sonoma and I didn't tell Uday abt tht ... I so wanted to see the lake sonoma and Uday wanted to see the redwoods...(shhhh! don't tell this to uday)

Oh! I even saw Lage Raho Munna Bhai on friday... awesome movie! loved it! I guess it was the first day first show... but we were damn lucky... got the tickets on time! yippiiee!!!

And that how I spent my long weekend. I had a great time.. didn't havta cook ;) But again, I'm bored right now... I feel like taking another mini trip... lets see what uday will say! So for time being, I started solving another jigsaw puzzle... got tired solving it.. so I decided to give a new look to my blog... I'm still working on it... currently I just replaced the old sunflower with new one and also the color of my blog title.

So, what's your opinion on the new look?

Gone for another 2 weeks

hmm.... another long break ... another 2 weeks and I will be done with this quarter.....
voooooohhhhooooooooooo \:D/ ... can't wait for the holidays to start.... I can sleep all day and go somewhere and enjoy the 3 weeks... ah! hope my wish will be fulfilled.

So till then I guess I won't be posting any and I won't be able to blog hop .... waaaaaaaaa :((

kya kare... I havta start counting days for mah exams ... exams se yaad aaya.. I havta get up early morning toworrow, finish the last assignment ... eeehhaaawww ... finish mah thesis paper :((

I'm Back

i'm back... i'm back ... i'm back to blogging .. yeah! (tryin to rhyme to MJ's I'm bad song)
sorry for taking such a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong gap. Time kab kaise guzargaya pata hi nahi chala. (nice excuse na? ;)

Well... I was caught up my routine schedule... so I won't talk much about it because I will start worrying about my upcoming assignments. But otherwise, I had a gala time (that includes the scorching heat too) in the past 2-3 weeks.

# We went to a national park ( two weeks ago) and discovered that there was a hiking trail. So we decided to give it a try and it was kinda difficult for a first timer (me ;)) There were all sorts of insects and that made it even more difficult for me. I couldn't even sit and rest for a while. We reached the top of the mountain and omg! the view was breathtaking. On one side the view of the bay was awesome! and to the other side it was all mountains... amazing! I wanted to spend the night there, but again, the insects. eeeeww! ( check out the pictures here)

# For the first time in 3 years of my stay in US, I have never seen a hot summer.. especially in Hayward. This city is supposed to be cool in summer too because of the fog from the bay. Thanks to Global warming, it was so damn hot from July 21st till 26th and also thanks to my apartment managers, we don't have AC in any apartment. It was as if I was sitting right on a hot pan burning myself. I used to shut all the windows by 10 am and cover the windows with wet bedsheets and sit in front of a small fan! The temparature wouldn't drop even by midnight. Oh! and to top it there was no power during the peak hours and people would rush to the nearby park and sleep there! That was the worst heat wave... kasam se India ki yaad aa gayi.
The heat wave will be back AGAIN during this month! Oh God! please I don't want to go through this again.

# Oh yes! about my previous assignment about Adolescents... its done! voooohhooo. Waiting for my professor to grade it. She better give me good grade, 'coz I spent a whole week and 2 straight days in scorching heat to finish it. Thanks to those who have taken the survey. It was like a bonus for our project.

# Last weekend, friday, we went to Mani Sharma 's music concert. I guess you all know who mani sharma is ! For those who don't know, he's a music director (focus mainly in Telugu and Tamil). The program was organized by BATA... nah not that shoe company BATA , its Bay Area Telugu Assicoation .. pic's available at my photo blog. The next day we had a get together.. not with Mani sharma .. but with friends. A birthday party.

# I was preparing for my exam on Wednesday( aug 1st) and suddenly I felt a jerk for 2 seconds. First I thought I was sleeping and thus my hand slipped. But again, the whole house jerked suddenly. My first thought was my neighbors moved something and thus the jerk. My second thought was is it an earthquake? That thought really scared me to death. Uday didn't feel anything 'coz he was in a deep sleep. I woked him, but he was not attentive. So I decided to forget about it. Next day evening, we were discussing and uday suddenly said: there was an earthquake in Napa Valley (which is roughly 40 miles away from our place) and people in hayward felt it strongly than in Fremont. My nose was red and had misty eyes. I realized that sudden jerk was indeed an earthquake. I told him, he sort of yelled at me , why I didn't wake him (refer line 4) since her realized that he wanted another bahana.. so he said .. its because of you, we don't watch news on TV. Anyways, I had a good laugh and at the same time... nervous... what if another one occurs? Looked up on the net to prepare for an earthquake and didn't sleep well last night because of the fear.

# Lastly, Happy birthday to SS! I mean to Sweet Simplicity. My blog is one year old now.vooooohhhoooo.. Last week was busy, so I'm celebrating SS birthday this weekend. Everyone is invited to the party.

hey guys, I am sorry for not dorpping by your blog (blogs)... I am quite busy with my projects for the past 2 weeks.... but I will sure drop by once i am done with these projects.

Italy again?

Phew!! my my ... Italy!! they made it ..... again! BRAVO!

I got goose bumps all over my face and hands and my eyes are still watery.
Ididn't watch the first half....I really didn't want to, 'coz I was damn tensed, but I couldn't resist, 'coz all my neighbors were shouting and so decided to watch the match from the second half :D .. I was literally sitting on the edge of my sofa and was trying not to smash my laptop :D

My neighbor's kids were cheering for France, and I decided to cheer for Italy ;) though I really thought France would make it...
Whenever France made goal, they clapped and were shouting and laughed when Italy missed the goal. I did the reverse, when Italy made goal, I was clapping and shouting or rather screaming ;) . It was damn funny.


Sad part , the matches are all over .. no more WC matches :(( sob sob .. now I can't make a bahana to watch :D

France Vs Portugal
This is one terrific match. Especially the last 10 mins. Phew! The way portugal played, I thought they would win , esp., the last goal attempt. I really thought it would go to shoot outs. I must say that their attack and defense was awesome! These guys didn't give up till the last second. Way to go Portugal!!

I guess Zidane was lucky! just lucky! The goal keeper read Zidane's movement so well, I thought he would block the ball. Ye Ye I can see sudeep smiling :) What if there was no penalty kick? Would France still make it to the Finals?

After watching the last quarter- final match between Brazil and France, I lost hope in Brazil. I neva seen them play such a sloppy game, ever. Their defense was bad and their attacking was aweful! I wonder how they came till quarter-finals. Lol! I guess Protugal is way better than Brazil.

As far as I know Italy never lost a game, they always lost in shoot outs. I just can't wait to watch Italy Vs France match. Its gonna be nail bitting!


Heartbreaking news: Pistons champ Ben Wallace will now be playing for Chicago Bulls. :(( sob sob... I wonder what will happen to pistions without Ben Wallace. For all those who don't know who he is, well he is the basketball champ for Pistions team.

well I said .... Hello, How Are You my Friend??? :D ..

I'm back to my busy schedule .. wohi .. college, classes n assignments. I'm so occupied with the assignments and the funny part is that I took 2 online classes and yet i'm unable to update here. Ain't that funny? But I must tell ya , it feels so good to be back to blogging. I know I know... I've repeated this sentence a coupla times , but this time I'm honest ;)

This time the courses I've taken have no correlation with business admin. You would faint if I said the names of the courses. Are you ready? okie .........1 ............2..............3 ...........and

I took 3 courses this time and all of them are general courses .. okie okie. Here's the list:

Personality Psychology ... I see some ppl fainting already .. hehe
Women & literature ... I see ppl's jaw dropped nah nah don't worry .. I don't wanna to take part in Mahila Mandal Sabha .. ROFL!
and finally
Wellness through Leisure .. now you must be wondering .. why did archi take this course when she is having fun. ........ I hear 'yes that's my question'.

One of my friend asked me this question .. how long do you know uday? I didn't understand why he asked me .... later he said .. if you know him very well then why the hell did you take psychology course.

Well I had to take because those were the required courses and its a must. I always liked psychology .. its the closest thing to predict human mind. So be ready to hear questions from me .. hehe .. I had no other choice in literature n that one sounded much better than the rest and I enjoy it. The last one.. I took cause most of my friends said I can get an A easily.. but for that I have to work hard.

oh! btw , are you guys following the world cup matches?

Cheesy, I couldn't do my nails ... damn! I didn't find that dark green nail color .. I bought the highlighters but I couldn't find dark green in that, i got light green ... I hope that should work ... LOL! It's gonna look funny ... just like the colors here --> light green, yellow n blue ... ROFL! Once I'm done .. will sure post the pictures. I'm so happy that Brazil won today's match 3:0 ........ yippieee!

Well how do i start?
Sometimes its easy to talk or to write about a person.. but sometimes words are not enough to describe about a person whom you love deep from your heart. No matter how much you say, it still feels less.

Before i forget the words , I want to wish my hubby dear Uday, a very Happy Birthday!

Here is the poem i want to dedicate to him. I posted this one some time ago.. but i want to re-post it here again.

Sometimes i feel so strange, I mean I always complained to my parents that I would never marry and that I would always stay with them.. until I met this person...

I never knew what true love is , till i met him. The best thing about him is that the impression that he leaves on the ppl after talking to them for the very first time..is unbelievable... or should i say speechless? I can vouch for that... and that's one of the reasons I fell in love with him :)

Even till date, whenever he talks , I just stare at him .. even while debating on serious topics, I somehow end up agreeing to his points ( well there are times when I win the debates ;) too hehe ).

.. though i get irritated with his stupid songs which has no meaning at all, I still lyk it.
... he motivates me when i need the most ... he's my strength

I'm lucky to have him with me n I'm truly, madly ,deeply in love with him. My love grows stronger N stronger with every passing day.

how was your weekend?? fellas?

mine was good... went glofing on friday, went to a get together organized by indians in san jose on saturday... and went shopping today... bought a poster frame for the painting.


<-- this is what i've been doing this weekend... solving jigsaw pizzle.. other than the above all. Guess you know what jigsaw puzzle is?

It's nothing but arranging the pieces.. you can start off with 20 pieces to say 2000 or 3000 ..

This one is a 500 piece puzzle. Initially there were no plans and I didn't know what do to do .. so decided to finish this.. i took 2 days to finish this puzzle. (well 3 days.. one day for arranging alike pieces :D)

I finished 2 other puzzles last year.. one winter and one fall.. n this one right here is the Spring.

So i'm left with just one more puzzle.. the summer one :-)

The reason I do this puzzle is to increase my patience level... yea yea .. for all those who know.. i'm very patient gal... but.. as i said b4 .. i'm an angry gal ;-)

well that's not the reason.. i just love to spend some time alone.. and this is one of the activities i do.

But what i said in the early line is true to an extent... i've suggested this puzzle to few angry/ restless persons and guess what , i saw a drastic change in them.. i see them being more patient, be it prefessional, personal .. i don't see that restlessness in them.


To the right is the Fall ... i just got it framed ...vooohoo ... will buy another frame next month :-)

I've been trying to update my blog for the past 2 days .. but don no why .. my post never showed up .. it still shows as a draft

The previous night .. right at 12:00 uday wished me.. i didn't even know the time .. 'coz i was driving from our friends place .. and the next day, uday surprised me with the cake yeah Choclate Cake ... he went to the store.. without telling me ... he even left his cell phone at home... hehe ... that happened while i was getting ready ..

so lemme give a brief intro abt them ...

Prassana ...

we were classmates in 1st standard, studied in the same school and we never talked to each other. So how do I remember him???? Well, i wouldn't say that his mother is a teacher at the same school (that's how everyone remember's him) .. and so that's how i know him.. nah!! I remember him so well because we used to fight a lot (for no reason).

He used to look so innocent n when i tell my friends that he was at fault ... none would believe... he used to pour water in my lunch box , pinch all over my face and hands till it starts to bleed a little ... and the next day my mom would come and complain to his mom... that went on for an year or so.

she's a sweetheart!! my best friend.. and i guess i wouldn't find any other friend like her! We were born on the same day and even more surprisingly at the same time ... not sure if it was the same hospital or not .lol!!

We used to play all the silly girlie stuff at school and as we grew older .. we started playing ' husband and wife' ... loll!!! yea i know its funny and weird to play and that too at school?? Whenever I think of it .. i laugh till my tummy aches.

She's is person with whom i can share my deepest secrets.

Every year , we used to have a competition ... who will first call and wish the birthday gal ... hehe... sometimes she used to win n sometimes me... we both used to say ' happy birthday ' 'oh thank you and same to you too! ' lol!!! that was fun... she left the school when we were 14 yrs ... and since then ... i used to be so left out... missed her a lot!! .. it's been almost 10 - 11 years since we met personally. The only time I saw her was during my marriage day! and that too when she was leaving.. damn!! i don't even have a snap of two of us.

I always used to say ... we should meet before we have kids .. loll!!! but that never happened so far... and now she is blessed with a baby girl.

but no matter where we are , till date ... we call or email to wish each other on our birthday.. I hope that we continue this bond of friendship forever!

Just like any other day .. i was trying to finish my assignments and as well cleaning my home which has been in such a big mess ( well the reason i'm cleaning is 'coz one of our friend is coming over for this weekend from Idaho ) .. so I gotta keep it clean .. still there's so much work left to do ..

anyways, I was busy with my own work and someone knocks on my door... it was the post man.. handed me the package.. first i thought Uday might have sent something surprise... but it was a surprise from my parents!!! They sent me my childhood videos and greeting cards along with a funny note from my sister... tears rolled down while reading them ...

.... All I want to say is .... that i love you both very much !!! I am so lucky to be your daughter ..

Mommy ... If I am strong and confident today, its all because of you... I've learnt so much from you... You've are such a wonderful Mom...

Daddy ... You've been my teacher, philosopher , guided me when i most needed , everything.

How was your weekend fellas??? For us it was just another weekend ... movies, food and more movies .... so here goes the list ..

** Million Dollar Baby ... loved it.. almosr cried

** Something's gotta give .. got bored watching it again.

** Ice Age , The Meltdown.. damn cool... watched with the kids.. i mean at theatre

** Crash ... too good

** Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire ... it's okie.. didn't lyk it much.. glad I saw it at home.

** Ninne Ishtapaddanu .. telugu movie... liked it... the same ol .. triangle love eshtory

** Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya ... comedy acha hai

** I'm about to watch Aksar now ..

 oh almost forgot... saw Indian Idol Final episode... kinda dissapointed.. thought Karunya would win (not 'coz he'z a hyderabadi) .. he sings damn good.. he is flawless.

and yea I learned how to make soup :D ... after 3 years of struggling and forcing Uday to have it... Finally .. yes finally ... i made it ... vooohoooo... quite an achivement. ^_^ ..
I asked uday to taste it... this time he refused to have first.

it's been 2 days since we came back from Las Vegas and my house is in such a big mess... we really had a gr8 time there... had lotssa fun.. won some in gambling.. was so happy that i won and the very next moment I lost all the money. :-((


I was surprised when we reached ... traffic jam.. ppl walking on the streets with their Magarita yard..
.........it was lyk as if I was in India going to an Exhibition.............
don't laugh.. i'm seroius.......... that was the first thought it occured to me... too crowded.. anyways , i'm gonna write about my experiences in detail may be in a day or two.. 'coz i'm still transfering my pictures from my phone to computer. .. till then have a look at some of the pictures i've downloaded.
